ASPCA Seen Around the Neighborhood Kappores Locations

An ASPCA agent sits at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Albany.

News of the city health department shutting down one Kapores location in Boro Park last night, came along with an agent for the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) seen hanging around Crown Heights and checking out the locations where Kapores in done.

Yesterdays Kapores ended without any incident from would-be disrupters, aside from activists who purchased a number of chickens ‘to save them’ and relocate them to an animal sanctuary upstate.

in 1895 the new york times reported that that 30 police officers on the lower east side could not stop kapores from happening, even though they tried. so folks, that was 115 years ago, and we’re still shlugging away. may G-d protect us from peta, the aspca, and any other anti-semites, that we may continue to practice as we wish. gmar chasima tova.

  • Kapores

CH is tougher then BP. They’re afaraid to come out of thier cars because they’re kapores.

  • The 1st Amendment

The chickens are all ending up in the same place, our stomachs. One could say, their actions are more anti-Semitic than anything else. And besides, there are too many chickens being transported for each chicken to get its own crate. Doesn’t the 1st amendment (freedom of religion) allow the practice of religion? Is this not a religious right?

If you ever run into a PETA/ASPCA activist or into their demonstration, please do ask them one simple question: “What is your position on abortion?”

  • EMERGENCY SIRENS

Why do those cars have sirens?
What kind of emergency do they have to SPEED 60 MPH through Red lights??

  • is it true?

these people have nothing better to do with their life…. and some one said that these poeple r the ones who got rubashkin to where he is now…. is that true?

  • Crazy World

In Germany during the war animals had more “rights” than humans. You would be fined heavily if you hurt an animal but rewarded if you killed a Jew R”L

  • Jew

    They are messing with Halacha.

    They are denying God.

    They confuse wromg from right.

chickens rights, palastinian rights, killer rights.

  • Yisroel

Let them go 2 Williamsburg & Kiryat Yoel & c how long they will last there. Their Butts will be wipped faster then u could say Boo. Get a freaking life Shchita is the best way, do u know how other slaughter houses slaughter animals ? U wouldn’t want 2 know the tourture these animals go through. Yoreah Deah & Rishonim tell u how its got 2 be done exactly, that is the Torah way.

they are just hateful people who have no understanding of what is enough. We gently swing the chicken and then we slaughter it in the most humane way. They are just looking for meaning in their lives and they don’t have it.

  • chicken-s advocate

You are so off base. This has nothing to do with anti Semitism and you are simply using this as an excuse. Many of the protesters are proud and compassionate Jews. This has to do with animal cruelty, particularly when there are other ways you can observe your holiday.

    Please do the right thing.

Those Red Sirens gives them the LEGAL right to disregad many safty laws and to distrupt traffic

If I (-a HUMAN BEING-) have a stomach ache, or my baby is crying at home – Why cant I take Red Lights?

IF they could take Red lights for animals – why cant I for HUMANS???

  • chicken lover for life

Thank you Chicken! I am with you on that, I too am a proud jew- this has NOTHING to do with anti-semitism.

  • Mixed up

Nothing to do with anti-semitism, just a distorted view of reality. Whatever chickens are going to be used for kapores would be killed in a slaughterhouse or a farm if not killed for kapores. The end is the same. Maybe there could be better treatment of the chickens during transportation, but these people might as well protest outside a McDonalds if they are just against killing animals for food.

  • Just plain ridiculous

Did you ever see the inside of a chicken slaughterhouse? The chickens are packed in so tight they don’t even have room to move around and they are covered in waste and filth. Exactly how is that more compassionate than Kapores?

  • Yours Truly (a PROUD Shoichet)

To 16 & 17, I would like the honor of meeting you after Yom Kippur, so I can shecht a chicken in your face, and bleed them all over you. Nothing to do with anti-semitism????? It has EVERYTHING to do with anti-semitism, including a bunch of SELF-HATING Jews like YOU!!! (have have ZERO appreciation for their traditions. How did you make your Tefilin, from PLASTIC???).

  • Reason for red lights

The ASPCA Humane Law Enforcement officers are Police Officers in the state of NY. They investigate and arrest people who abuse animals. They are responsible for arresting those who conduct Rooster fights as well as Pit Bull fights. Not only do they have red lights they also have weapons. I’m sure they were not there to disrupt or stop our Kappros. They were there to ensure the chickens were treated and stored properly before being used. Of course we don’t need them since as Torah observant Yidden we treat our animals as directed by Torah.
