We urge to come out and vote for us this Sunday in the Vaad Hakohol elections. We decided to run for Vaad Hakohol because we believe we can make a difference. Since you are already taking your time to read this paper, you already know the importance of having a viable Vaad. Therefore, we will not spend time explaining what we think the Vaad should do; instead, we will explain what we can do for the Vaad and for the community.

Holding Police Accountable, Community First!

The following is a brief list of objectives we plan on working on if we get elected:

1. Bais Din. We plan on working on unifying the Bais Din and to see through the election of the third rav. In addition, we will work on strengthening the voice of the Bais Din and ensure that they receive the appropriate respect.

2. Chinuch. Many in the community struggle to pay for their childrens’ tuition. We plan on working with the Moisdois to lower the cost of tuition; similarly, we will demand from the government to provide more assistance to our Moisdois, and provide tuition assistance to parents, such as school vouchers. E.

3. SAFETY AND SECURITY. We will work with the Police to insure our community is adequately protected. That said, we will not be afraid to hold the Police accountable for not doing their job.

4. ECONOMY. Although we are in though economic times, we can do more to alleviate its effect on our community. We plan on improving the job training offered by the vaad and expanding programs to assist people in finding jobs.

5. Transparency. If elected, we plan on making sure that Vaad’s activities are public and transparent. We plan on keeping the public informed on the workings of the Vaad and treat the position of being Vaad member with the respect it deserves.

Finally, we are running on our own and not against anybody and look forward in working with whom ever gets elected to the Vaad.

    My Dear Fellow Mispallelim:

    Greetings and Blessings!

I have been asked some by Shul Members to clarify & explain what is expected of us in the upcoming election. We start with some of the Rebbe’s words regarding the elections and his opinion about them.

“Certainly everyone will participate in these elections, and they will not decide that is beneath their dignity… since such calculations don’t come from holiness but from the left side… since this an important matter for the entire community.”

“It is necessary to announce that anyone who will attempt to interfere with the elections, it is a pity on him.”

IY”H this Sunday there will be elections for the Vaad Hakohol (Community Council) and Gabboim in the basement of 770. It is incumbent upon each & everyone to exercise his right to vote as instructed by the Rebbe.

Unfortunately Crown Heights has been subjected to terrible Machloikes for too long a time. This is partially attributable to private interest groups gaining control of the Vaad for their purposes. It is high time for CHANGE.

This last Vaad came into power under very dubious conditions. They continued to promote their agenda which has nothing to do with the community bringing more Machloikes and division to our neighborhood. Their actions brought them to helping indict 6 members of the community, Shomrim volunteers, and fathers of families (through a vicious mesira). This resulted in a long and costly court case that ended with these individuals being exonerated and found totally innocent.

Simply put. We need new faces, new blood, which care about you and me without special interest. Young people who would like to see the betterment of both the Gashmius and the Ruchniyus in the community where they have chosen to raise their families and build their homes.

I urge you to vote for Rabbi Shea Hecht, Dr. Meyer Spinner, Avrohom Benarosh, Yossi Hackner, Zaki Tamir, and Aron Vogel. These people are nice people with a collective history of helping people.

For Gabboim I ask you to vote for Avrohom Holzberg, Yosef Losh, and Menachem Gerlitsky.

    Gut Shabbos,

  • we miss the Rubashkin vaad

Finally the old “LOSHON HORO” (Crown Heights Chronicle) news paper is out again with more loshon horo. That’s the Poltrack and gang’s news paper. Vote for Shea Hecht and his group, so that we can have a decent Shechuna with Chesed and not Machloikes.
