A Gmach in Turmoil, Nevertheless Still Thrives

Friends and supporters of Gmach Keren Yisroel Aryeh Leib turned out for a seudas Melava Malka this past Motzai Shabbos Parashas Truma.

The gmach, which is a pillar of support for many families in the community, has been in turmoil since elements in the community sought to destroy it for political gain. Despite that the gathered crowd showed their unwavering support, and vowed to overcome the destroyers.

I would like to thank the supporters of the GEMACH. Though my husband works full time at a decent job ( he has a masters and works to help others) there have been time when we could not make ends meet due to our son’s medical bills. He has 2 rare disorders and even with health insurance our co pays are VERY high. We qualify for NO goverment programs because me “make to much”. We do not lie or cheat to get on these programs either. If it were not for this gemach we would have had our electric turned off, been unable to buy food ect. We ALWAYS re pay the gemach as well. All I can say is THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Sought to destroy it? That sounds a *little* strong. I thought all that happened was that it got a subpoena (in a case in which it was not a party); complying with a subpoena ought not ‘destroy’ anybody or anything.

Or, did I miss (ugh) more bad news?
