BOROUGH PARK, Brooklyn [CHI] — Hundreds of women and girls from all backgrounds gathered last night in Boro Park's Young Israel Beth-El Shul in a show of solidarity and support of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin and the entire Rubashkin family.

Hundreds of Women Attend Rally in Support of S.M. Rubashkin

BOROUGH PARK, Brooklyn [CHI] — Hundreds of women and girls from all backgrounds gathered last night in Boro Park’s Young Israel Beth-El Shul in a show of solidarity and support of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin and the entire Rubashkin family.

Three buses left from Crown Heights and the rest flocked from the surrounding area.

The crowd heard words of Chizuk from the Shul’s spiritual leader, Rabbi Moshe Snow, as well as from Rabbi Fischel Schechter and Rabbi Lipa Brennan.

Following the first part of the program, Mrs. Miriam Swerdlow served as emcee and introduced Mrs. Nissy Streicher who recited Kapitlach of Tehillim in the merit of Sholom M. and other incarcerated Jews, and then introduced Mrs. Roza Hindy Weiss, the daughter of Sholom M. In a speech filled with choked tears, Roza Hindy told the crowd of her past year of traveling from city to city in the hopes of raising the necessary funds for her father’s legal defense. She recounted that she lived out of a large roller suitcase for months and dealt with many skeptics who served only to demoralize her.

Roza Hindy had big thanks for Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz, whom she met in her travels and who contributed largely to making the event possible, for allowing his newspaper, the Yated- Ne’eman, to spread the true facts of case and raise the necessary awareness.

The evening concluded with a recording of Mrs. Leah Rubashkin, the wife of Sholom M., with a message to the crowd thanking them for their support. She unfortunately was not able to attend in person.

    This is a a great begining but way overdue. Why havent the shluchim rallied around the Rubashkins.

    because they only worry about thier own skin, not anyone elses.

    i wonder
    why everyone is so quiet about the mesirah on shomrim ?
    time to fight mesiros in Crown hights.
    and as the rebbe said whats heppend in crown heights.
    heppen in the world if crown heights would of stop the mosrim 2 years ago (even now no one is doing nothing to stop the mesiros on shomrim that ongoing)
    i am sure GOD would listen more to the prayors to free rubashkin.
    and where are we now ?
    i heard from one of the shomrims lawyers that a very big bill is open .
    HELP THE SHOMRIM and this will help rubashkin and all jews.

    Shluchim have been rallying and supporting Rubashkin in many ways, however for our communities which do not see it the same way Anash and other frum communities see it we have to be cautious what we say in Public. May we share Besoros Tovos Today in a revealed way.

    I’m POSITIVE that if SMR saw the comment from ezzie & “to ezzie” he would cry for these 2 commenters. His ahava for every yid & his ahava for shluchim & shlichus is unbelievable. & guess what?! Plenty of shluchim – myself included – have been doing whatever we are able to. like the last shliach wrote – it’s not so easy to just publicly make a statement. We need to do it b’oifen hamiskabel – so we talk to ppl in the community – one on one… we daven for SMR 24/7, we send $ eventhough we ourselves are struggling, we send letters to him, things to his family, visit him….. now – I challenge you – WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? or are you only about putting others down?! Stand up to the challenge – put your wallet where your huge mouth is!!!!!!!!!

    I agree with “Do something Positive”
    The whole point of the event was to Free SMR and all those who need Pidyon Shevuyim!!! They said it loud and clear and said thillim for all those in need.

    What YOU need to do: At the very least: Say a perek of thillim and give some tzedaka… and with YOUR help he, as well as everyone in need, including Shomrim, will be released, redeemed etc

    ine of the speakers said that when it comes to tzedukah your supposed to give give and give some more untill it hurts and once it hurts u give once again
    everyone should try their hardest to support reb mordichy ribashkin in his time of need just like he did for others

    i was by the gathering and i must say it was beutifull with all the achtus and unity and the speaches wure inspirering and tought me a lot

    Visiting Sholom Mordechai in jail after this gathering, he is very appreciative for all that everyone has done and continue doing and was very uplifted by the Achdus displayed in his zchus. May Hashem hear the Tefillos of the Nashim Tzidkoniyus and release him from jail and he should only have simchas to share with us. On a different note I am inspired by the Emunah and Bitachon he has, keeping his spirits up… He is an extraordinary person and Hashem should pay him back with revealed good speedily.

    Could someone please tell me the date of Sholom Mordechai’s birthday, as I say his kapitel tehillim every day and I’m not sure of the exact date to change to the correct chapter.
