Chabad Brings Chanukah Joy to the Bronx

This year Chabad of Riverdale brought the light and joy of Chanukah to hundreds in the Bronx with a wide array of programs, enjoyed and appreciated by old and young alike.

Chanukah Wonderland

Hundreds of children gathered on Sunday afternoon, December 14, for the spectacular Chanukah Wonderland, featuring a Puppet Theater, Grand Olive Press, Cookie Baking and Decorating, Make Your Own Chanukah Candle and Carnival booths.

Lighting of the Largest Menorah in the Bronx

The Bronx’s largest Menorah at the Riverdale Monument was lit every afternoon of Chanukah by Rabbi Levi Shemtov, director of Chabad of Riverdale.

Last Sunday, December 21, hundreds gathered for the main celebrations, taking place at the Riverdale Monument.

Councilman Andrew Cohen, Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz and New York State Senator Jeffrey Klein were present at the celebrations. Councilman Andrew Cohen accompanied Rabbi Shemtov in the Con Edison truck bucket to light the Menorah. On the final night of Chanukah, State Senator Reuben Diaz was present for the Menorah Lighting.
