Chanukah Mivtzoim at London’s Heathrow Airport
Every night of Channukah, 3 bouchurim: Saadia Weingarten, Gedalia Hertz and Yaakov Bennish, from Yeshiva Gedolah Lubavitch of London, distributed donuts and Menorahs at London’s Heathrow Airport.
They stood at The El-Al gates as flights were departing to Israel.
They were accompanied by Rabbi Hershi Vogel, shliach to West London, who also serves as the airport’s chaplain; he was able to arrange security passes.
A large menorah was set up at the check-in area, thanks to Rabbi Dovid Katz, shliach to West Hampstead, London.
The Israeli ambassador to the UK, Daniel Taub, who happened to be flying back to Israel, posed for a photo in front of the menorah with Rabbi Vogel and El-Al executives.
Doughnuts and menorahs were distributed in the King David lounge nightly.
A memorah was lit every night by the gate with over 100 people participating.
After the flights had left, they arranged a Chanukah party with a menorah lighting in the El-Al security office. Hundreds of doughnuts were given out every night.

Keep up the very good work you do at the airport, Its amazing the amount of people you & zelda put up for shabbos at the last minute for those that had flight delays and arrive just minuets before shabbos or people that have a flight soon after shabbos.
