Menorah Lighting in Amsterdam’s Most Famous Square
This year again, hundreds of people attended the annual menorah lighting on the most famous square in Holland, the Dam square in Amsterdam.
For the first time the new mayor Van der Laan attended and was very impressed and spoke very warmly to the Jewish community.
The mayor lit the shamash where afterward Head shliach Rabbi Yitschok Vorst lit the rest of the candles.
This event was organized by shliach Menachem Evers and was attended by the Rabbi’s and leaders of the Jewish community.
Also the new shliach to Amsterdam Akiva Camisar was introduced to the mayor and the crowd.
