The proceedings started with 12 children from all around England saying the Twelve Pesukim and Mamorei Chazal.
MP Mr Ivan Lewis, a minister in Her Majesty’s Government lit the menorah and spoke about the significance of Chanukah, followed by the Mayor of Barnet.
The crowds were entertained with a fire and unicycle display – everyone enjoyed the doughnuts and Chanukah Gelt and dreidels which were distributed. The clowns were also a big part of the success of the program. Said Rabbi Yossi Simon, from Tzivos Hashem, “It was beautiful to see crowds from all spectrums of the community join together in unity”
Rabbi Mendel Gordon was the MC for the evening. A video of the Rebbe was shown most evenings too. This was in addition to the Public Lightings every evening at Golders Green Station and the five other public Menoros Tzivos Hashem erected around London.
Tzivos Hashem also travelled around to 14 schools and Chedorim with the Olive Oil Press and other programs over the week of Chanukah, speaking to close to 2500 children, Ka”h.
