12,000 and Counting, Young Shluchim Aim for 60,000 Lines Baal Peh for the Rebbe’s Birthday

Over 600 Yaldei Hashluchim have already learned over 12,000 lines of Mishnayos and Tanya Baal Peh in just the two weeks since MyShliach’s MBP program launched its latest season, with momentum building toward a collective gift of Torah for the Rebbe’s birthday on Yud Alef Nissan.

MBP is one of the most beloved programs offered by Merkos 302’s MyShliach, the global community for young Shluchim. The year-round initiative encourages children on shlichus to learn and memorize Mishnayos and Tanya. Participants earn points for each line learned and for time spent reviewing, which can be redeemed for prizes, seforim, and more through the MyShliach store. Leaderboards, periodic missions, trivia, and raffles keep the learning going between seasons.

“The Rebbeim taught that reciting Torah Baal Peh purifies the air,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “With young Shluchim learning from Uruguay to Thailand and beyond, that’s Oisyos HaTorah filling the atmosphere in literally every corner of the world.”

Last week, hundreds of children joined a virtual program to learn about the importance of giving the Rebbe a gift of Torah, both individually and as a group, led by Rabbi Avrohom Goldberg, MyShliach’s MBP Coordinator at Merkos 302. The response has been immediate, “Children who hadn’t participated previously are logging lines for the first time, and families are noticing the difference at home.” recounts Rabbi Goldberg.

A Shliach from Europe, whose son attends a school focused primarily on limudei chol, said the program changed how his son spends his downtime. “Instead of wasting his free hours, he’s reviewing Tanya and Mishnayos Baal Peh,” he said. “The program keeps him connected to learning in a fun and structured way.”

“It’s incredible to see the dedication of these young Shluchim,” says Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz, Director of MyShliach at Merkos 302. “These young Shluchim from every corner of the world are excited to be part of a collective effort, giving the Rebbe a matana of Torah for Yud Alef Nissan.”

For young Shluchim growing up far from established frum communities, MBP turns spare time at home, long car rides, and quiet evenings into opportunities for learning Tanya and Mishnayos. As Yud Alef Nissan approaches, and with a goal to learn 50,000 lines collectively, every line adds to a growing gift of Torah from the Rebbe’s young Shluchim around the globe.
