NYC Hospital System Moves Out of Network for Major Insurance Provider
Mount Sinai, one of New York City’s largest hospital systems, moved out of network for hundreds of residents under the insurance company Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
The change in service went into effect at midnight on Tuesday. The two sides have been unable to reach an agreement since January.
“Despite our best efforts to keep Mount Sinai doctors and hospitals in our network, Mount Sinai executives have refused our offers to do so,” read a notice on the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield website. “We remain open to continuing talks with Mount Sinai’s administrators, and we hope to return them to our network in the future.”
