Mechanchos Gather To Draw Guidance From The Rebbe To Help Students Navigate Personal Challenges
Marking 50 years since the 12 Pesukim, during the annual Kinus Hashluchos, the Merkos Chinuch Office hosted a focused day of Chinuch titled “UNSTUCK,” bringing together Mechanchos for meaningful professional growth rooted in the Rebbe’s approach to education.
Marking 50 years since the introduction of the 12 Pesukim, the program highlighted their timely relevance and the empowering message of Bechol as a practical framework for guiding students beyond limitations and toward their inherent strengths and sense of mission.
Participants expressed deep appreciation for both the content and the care invested in the experience.
“I wanted to share how amazing it is to have a program focused on Chinuch over Kinus weekend. Plus, it was done so beautifully and intentionally. each presenter shared so much insight, practical wisdom, and inspiration,” shared Leah Sollis, Principal, (CMCA Atlanta)
The program opened with a presentation by Mrs. Sara Blau and Mrs. Shterna Rappaport, who centered the session around the Possuk “Bechol Dor Vador,” presenting it as a guiding framework for helping students rise above their personal challenges. They highlighted the Rebbe’s message that children are not defined by their struggles, but are soldiers in Hashem’s army, empowered with the ability to choose, to grow, and to tap into their inner strength.
Mrs. Nami Friedman, an educational consultant, emphasized that “behavior is a symptom” of underlying needs. She introduced the “Compassion Circuit Breaker,” urging teachers to use curiosity instead of judgment when a student is struggling. Friedman also highlighted the “Power of Yet,” a growth mindset tool that transforms “I can’t do it” into “I can’t do it yet”.
The program also featured insights from experienced educators, including Mrs. Nami Friedman, Educational Consultant, Mrs. Chedva Sherff, Middle School Teacher, and Mrs. Sima Susskind, Director of Project TEAM, who shared practical, classroom-ready tools applicable across age groups, from early childhood through middle school. Their contributions focused on understanding behavior, fostering good Middos, and creating environments where students feel supported and capable.
Rabbi Hertzel Pewsner, Mashpia of Toimchei Temimim Morristown, offered a deeper look at the Rebbe’s approach to identity and struggle through the Possuk of Bechol, explaining how the Yetzer Hara is presented as an external force rather than part of the child’s essence. This perspective allows educators to address behavior while preserving a child’s inherent goodness and self-worth.
The workshop concluded with a reminder that the Rebbe’s message of freedom and Geulah is not limited to Pesach, but is relevant every day. Participants left equipped with actionable tools and renewed inspiration to help their students, and themselves, move from “stuck” to “unstuck.”
