CKids Welcomes Aboard All Shluchos To The One-of-a-Kind CKids Gan Israel Mobile Canteen
At this year’s Kinus Hashluchos, CKids invites all Shluchos aboard the CKids Gan Israel Mobile Canteen to enjoy complimentary coffee and special treats, for themselves and their families back home.
Over the next few days, Shluchos from around the world will participate in the International Kinus Hashluchos, a time filled with inspiration and meaningful conversations designed to strengthen each other and their Shlichus for the year to come.
The schedule is full and demanding, with little time to pause. So this year, CKids Gan Israel is intentionally offering something different. It’s not another workshop or session to squeeze into an already packed agenda.
Instead, CKids is inviting Shluchos to step aboard the CKids Gan Israel Mobile Canteen, a warm, camp-inspired space designed for a brief pause, a hot cup of coffee, and a moment to reconnect with one of the most powerful tools in Jewish life: overnight camp.
Parked centrally on Kingston Avenue, the Mobile Canteen serves as a welcoming pit stop throughout the Kinus. Inside, Shluchos can enjoy complimentary coffee and special treats, both to enjoy on the spot and to take back for their families, while reflecting on their favorite camp memories.
“This isn’t about programming or presentations,” shared Rabbi Zalman Lowenthal, Director of CKids at Merkos 302. “It’s about offering an inviting space where we can share our appreciation for the hundreds of Shluchos already taking part in this important Shlichos and offering the opportunity to many more.”
The Mobile Canteen is part of the broader CKids Gan Israel Overnight Camp Grant initiative, launched just a few weeks ago. The initiative provides a $1,000 grant to families enrolling their children in one of the CKids Gan Israel overnight camps, helping remove financial barriers and open the door for more children to experience a fully immersive Jewish summer.
The response has been remarkable. In just a short time, over 250 children from Shluchim communities around the world have already applied, placing CKids camps well ahead of where they typically stand at this point in the year.
“We consistently see that when one child attends an overnight camp, the impact doesn’t end with the summer,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “That child often returns home more confident, more connected, and more involved in Yiddishkeit, and very often brings their family along with them.”
The CKids Gan Israel Mobile Canteen will be open to all Shluchos during the Kinus on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, to come aboard, whether for a coffee, a quiet moment, or a reminder that even one child can make a lasting difference.
