Hadar HaTorah Concludes Powerful Winter Yeshivacation

Hadar HaTorah recently concluded its annual Winter Yeshivacation, providing a transformative experience for students who spent the second half of Chanukah and the following week immersed in the world of Yeshiva life. As the Rebbe’s first yeshiva for baalei teshuva, the program offered a unique opportunity for young men to live and learn Chassidishkeit within the Rebbe’s daled amos.

The ten-day itinerary was packed with a mix of deep Torah study and hands-on Chassidic experiences. Participants visited the Ohel, the Rebbe’s library, and 770, where they joined the public Menorah lighting. Beyond the classroom, students engaged in a professional sofrus workshop, a tzitzis tying session where everyone made their own pair, and hit the streets for mivtzoim on the Mitzvah Tank.

Highlights of the program included a spirited farbrengen at Rabbi Sholom Schapiro’s Torah Center in Manhattan, an “Ask the Rabbi” session with the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yakov Goldberg, and a fascinating presentation on “Confessions of a Jewish Cultbuster” by Rabbi Shea Hecht. Students also experienced the joy of a Chassidic wedding and spent an uplifting Shabbos hosted by Crown Heights families.

The impact of the program was visible in the participants’ feedback. One student shared, “I am so grateful to have had this experience to remind me what is good and right. The world needs more light!” Another added, “Hadar was an amazing environment—the people were so welcoming and encouraging. It was a no-pressure environment, very open and accepting. This was one of the best decisions I ever made, and I’m looking forward to coming back next winter.”

The bonds formed during the program often lead to lifelong friendships. As one participant noted, “I got to connect with so many other amazing Jewish guys; being in that yeshivah environment was incredible.”

While the winter session has ended, the momentum continues. Hadar HaTorah is now preparing for its upcoming “Torah Under the Sun” summer session in the Catskills, running from June 19 to July 19. The program offers a month of intensive learning and growth in a vibrant summer atmosphere.
