Letter of the Frierdiker Rebbe from the Mindel Archives – In Honor of Yud Shvat

In honor of Yud Shvat  – we share a letter of the Frierdiker Rebbe whose entire life was devoted to chinuch – to the extent of self-sacrifice for it.

The letter is addressed to Justice Rosenman – chairman of The Jewish Education Committee of New York. 

Says the Rebbe – Although it is a good thing that  the Committee is encouraging and promoting Jewish education for all boys and girls – it is absolutely vital that the committee should see to it that the education which is given in these Jewish schools, Talmud Torahs – should be true Jewish education, given by Torah observant teachers etc. – so that the children should not G-d forbid fall prey to secular forces, missionaries etc.

The Rebbe goes on to suggest guidelines for this and gives his strong encouragement.
