PSA: Expect Long Lines at the Ohel This Sunday as 1,000 Young Professionals Visit
If you find yourself at the Rebbe’s Ohel this Sunday afternoon, you’ll be joined by a nice crowd.
Organizers of CYP Encounter, the largest international gathering of young Jewish professionals, would like to let the Crown Heights community—whose unparalleled warmth and hospitality is integral to the experience—know that tens of buses will depart from Kingston Ave and Eastern Parkway at 10 AM Sunday morning, so heavy traffic can be expected in the area.
Over 1,000 young Jewish professionals will be making their way to The Rebbe’s Ohel between 1 and 4 PM, the fitting finale of the largest CYP Encounter Shabbaton yet. After a full weekend immersed in Crown Heights, davening at 770, uplifting Shabbos meals, and farbrengens in local homes, participants will conclude the Shabbaton with a visit to the Ohel.
It’s a far cry from seven years ago, when 50 participants attended the first CYP Shabbaton. This year’s crowd, arriving from 100 cities across the United States, Australia, South America, Europe, and Israel, will first gather at the Queensborough Theater for a preparatory program.
Then, they’ll head to the Ohel, many for the very first time.
The pre-Ohel program is open to all tri-state area young Jewish professionals and shluchim. Shluchim can register their communities at cypshabbat.nyc/connection
