Unused for 40 Years, the Mikvah at Lubavitcher Yeshiva Ocean Parkway Comes Back to Life

As we prepare for the opening of the Tomchei Tmimim Mesivta, an important step was taken this week with the demolition of the campus mikvah. For many years, the Ocean Parkway mikvah served as the only mikvah in the area, so much so that people would line up around the block on Erev Yom Kippur just to get in.

Rabbi Yosef Simpson, Menahel Moised, reflected on the significance of this moment.
“This mikvah is being rebuilt to serve the next chapter of Tomchei Tmimim Mesivta.”

While today it may seem like just another stage in construction, for many this moment marks the beginning of a new chapter, one that will transform this space through a full gut renovation for the yeshiva’s future needs.

The Mesivta is a natural choice for both locals and out-of-towners, offering parents something many out-of-town Mesivtas cannot: Families naturally find themselves in Crown Heights several times a year for the Kinus Hashluchim, Kinus Hashluchos, family simchas, and other occasions. This provides parents with opportunities to visit their son, meet personally with the hanhala, and remain actively involved in their child’s chinuch.

Registration is now open for bochurim entering Shiur Aleph Mesivta.
