Helping the Overlooked: Camp Emunah Offers A Special Scholarship for Struggling Middle-Income Families
Many families fall into the tough spot we call “the struggling middle-income bracket”. They earn just enough to disqualify them from most assistance programs, but their bills, housing, groceries, tuition, and everything else are so high that covering the basic costs of life is very challenging.
That’s why Bassie and Mendel Hecht have stepped up to offer a special $500 scholarship specifically for families in this financial situation who send their kids to Teen Camp for two months.
“Camp Emunah is not a luxury, but a necessity, Reb. Chave Hecht always said. Its so important to help those in this financial bracket, which is so many times ignored,” said the Rabbi Hanoch Hecht.
Registration for camp opens this Sunday at 8 PM EST this Sunday December 28th the of teves!
Camp Emunah, the pioneering Chabad girls’ overnight camp, was founded in 1953 by Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda (JJ) Hecht and his wife, Rebbetzin Chave Hecht, with a special blessing from the Lubavitcher Rebbe. To show the importance of Camp The Rebbe himself visited Camp Emunah three times, which underscores its importance.
Today, camp Emunah continues to uphold the highest standards set by its founders, providing meaningful summers b’gashmius and b’ruchnius for generations of girls worldwide.
