Lubavitchers Across The Globe Mark Yud Tes Kislev With Chassidus Learning Hachlatos

by Yossi Weinstein

As Chassidim around the world celebrate Yud Tes Kislev, many are looking to deepen their connection to Chassidus and bring more meaning into their daily lives. In this atmosphere of inspiration, the Merkos Torah community is launching a new, expanded learning initiative to encourage hundreds of Lubavitcher men and women to establish a true kvius in learning Chassidus, steady, structured, and practically sustainable.

Merkos Torah at Merkos 302 serves as the umbrella for a wide network of learning kollels for shluchim and Lubavitchers across the world, uniting a global community of learners who grow together through guided and regular learning.

“The Rebbeim declared Yud Tes Kislev a day to recommit ourselves to Chassidus learning,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302. “Our goal is to provide the tools and infrastructure to make these hachlotas last by building a sense of community among those looking to advance in their Chassidus learning.”

Each Kollel focuses on a specific area of Torah and offers guided, consistent learning that strengthens both the mind and the heart. This season, three central programs are taking the lead: Kollel Dach, Iyun Tefilla, and Dach L’noshim. These Kollels have already enriched communities globally, helping participants not only study Chassidus but apply it meaningfully in day-to-day life.

“It’s not just about inspiration for the moment,” explained Rabbi Mendel Chaiton, director of Merkos Torah. “The Kollel Dach helps people establish a real, lasting connection to Chassidus that stays with them and shapes their daily lives.”

Kollel Dach offers a thoughtful and organized framework for learning Chassidus that fosters real growth and stability. Iyun Tefilla brings participants into the depth and meaning of davening, transforming the tefilla experience with understanding and emotional connection.

Dach L’noshim provides women with a warm and empowering space to learn Chassidus consistently, and has quickly become one of the most uplifting and impactful Kollels within Merkos Torah. This year’s expanded curriculum aims to make the program even more accessible.

As Yud Tes Kislev is celebrated, communities worldwide are strengthening their commitments and taking on new hachlotas in the spirit of the day. And there’s no greater hachlota than establishing a reliable, ongoing kvius in learning Chassidus, which brings structure, depth, and purpose to every part of life. Joining a Kollel provides not only knowledge but also support, accountability, and a sense of belonging among a community of fellow learners.

The invitation is open to all men, women, shluchim, balebatim, beginners, and advanced learners alike. It is a simple step that carries the potential to uplift and transform the entire year ahead.

The Merkos Torah community joined a virtual Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen last night with Rabbi Osher Farkash. A recording of the farbrengen is available here:
