EnerJew Concludes Successful Seminar for Future Youth Leaders

Nearly 50 outstanding and active teens from EnerJew chapters across Russia and other FSU countries, gathered for a four-day seminar at the Vinogradovo Hotel near Moscow. The intensive training, part of the EnerJew Youth Movement’s School for Counselors, aimed to equip participants with practical tools and deep insights into the field of informal Jewish education.

“The current group is made up of exceptionally talented and committed young people, who are set to become key activists, counselors, and leaders within their communities,” said Yakov Sominisky, Director of EnerJew. “This unique and engaging seminar gives them everything they need—knowledge, tools, and inspiration—to realize their dreams and help others in their community live meaningful Jewish lives with pride in their heritage.”

A highlight of the seminar was a special Shabbat experience at the Marina Roscha Jewish Community Center in central Moscow. After dining together, the participants were warmly hosted by local Jewish families for inspiring Chassidic gatherings, including a special session led by Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar, which became one of the seminar’s most memorable events.

Among the guest speakers and lecturers were Rabbi Moshe Rochlin, Rabbi Azarya Shaulov, and Rabbi Chaim Ozer Amigrov, Rabbi Moshe Elkin, Rabbi Avraham Denisov, and Rabbi David Shapiro. A guided tour of Jewish Moscow introduced participants to vibrant Jewish life through visits to key institutions including the Jewish University, the Mesivta School, and various Jewish initiatives.

A unique answers and questions session on leadership was held with Rabbi Yehuda and Mrs. Chaya Tamar Davydov of the 770 Foundation, a key partner in supporting the event.

The success of the seminar was made possible thanks to the dedication of Kristina Shulman and Azarya Shaulov, Directors of the School for Counselors; Natella Epstein, Regional Director; and a wide team of devoted EnerJew professionals working year-round to strengthen Jewish youth across the region.

Since its founding in 2013, EnerJew—generously supported by the Finger Family Foundation—has become a transformative force in Jewish life across the FSU. By promoting Jewish identity, youth activism, and leadership, the movement has empowered more than 14,000 graduates to reconnect with their heritage. Today, EnerJew operates 73 branches in 10 countries, engaging thousands of Jewish teenagers and shaping the next generation of Jewish community leaders.
