PORT WASHINGTON, NY [CHI] — In an unprecedented move, the New York Islanders have invited Rabbi Paltiel of Chabad of Port Washington to perform a short pre-Chanukah ceremony at Nassau Coliseum during their game against the Boston Bruins this coming Monday night, December 3rd. The rabbi hopes to utilize the opportunity to promote the observance of the mitzvah of lighting Chanukah menorahs and its message of light, goodness and kindness, in a world sorely in need of it. He will be lighting a 9 foot menorah.

Rabbi Paltiel to perform pre-Chanukah Ceremony at Nassau Coliseum

PORT WASHINGTON, NY [CHI] — In an unprecedented move, the New York Islanders have invited Rabbi Paltiel of Chabad of Port Washington to perform a short pre-Chanukah ceremony at Nassau Coliseum during their game against the Boston Bruins this coming Monday night, December 3rd. The rabbi hopes to utilize the opportunity to promote the observance of the mitzvah of lighting Chanukah menorahs and its message of light, goodness and kindness, in a world sorely in need of it. He will be lighting a 9 foot menorah.

The Rebbe strongly encouraged public displays of Chanukah as a symbol of the religious freedom that this wonderful country provides, and a symbol of the message that we are indeed “One Nation Under G-d”.

If you would like to purchase tickets to attend this historic game please click here: www.chabadpw.org/islanders. The ticket prices are: $54 – Lower Level Seating | $39 – Center Ice Level | $29 – Endzone Level. The game starts at 7pm on Monday. Tickets ordered through Chabad will be available at the ‘will call’ windows as ‘Chabad group’.

Chabad would like to show a crowd coming out for this game. This will encourage the Islanders to allow us to do this once again next year. Please purchase as many tickets as you can and join us!

    Dear Rabbi
I apreciate the article and what a great Kiddush Hashem this will make
Yet for a Shaliach to ask people to buy tickets on a Chabad website is in my humble opinion -a bit of line-
Lets not forget what teh battle was against teh greeks-
to bring light there yes -to attend as Chabdnik’s -dont think so
