Mamdani Projected To Win NYC Mayoral Election, Cuomo Concedes
Zohran Mamdani, who won the Democratic primary earlier this year, has been declared winner the New York City Mayoral election. He will be the first Muslim Mayor of NYC, a well as one of the youngest.
According to the city’s Board of Elections, nearly 1.75 million voters had cast ballots as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, marking the biggest turnout in a New York mayoral race in at least 30 years.
The Jewish vote turned out in record numbers, pushing the heavily endorsed Andrew Cuomo over the projected poll numbers.
