Kislev Celebrations at YNS Tzfas

TZFAS, Israel [CHI] — It all started Thursday night before Shabbos Mevorchim Chodesh Kislev when the Shluchim of the yeshiva farbrenged for five hours with the bochurim in preparation for Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Already then the bochurim were thinking about which hachlotohs to take upon themselves.

The lebedike Friday night Seudas Shabbos at Rabbi ‘O’s was just the entrée for the next day in which the bochurim said the whole Tehillim for a Refuah Sh’leima for Ora Bas Bella and then were treated to a wonderful farbrengen which lasted until midnite.

The Rosh Chodesh seuda/farbrengen was headed by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi ‘O’rimland and by the Mashpia, Rabbi Levi Wilchanski who told over the story of Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Yasher Koach to Hatomim Mendel Friedrich who said over part of the ma’amer. Rabbi ‘O’ spoke about how important it is to know that the Rebbe is still guiding us and continued on very strongly about what the Rebbe has done for us and what the Rebbe is still doing for us every single day. We must bring nachas to the Rebbe and that it is through accepting upon oneself different hachlotohs, of course each bochur on his own level. And so, many hachlotohs were accepted by bochurim and the preparations for Yud Tes Kislev had begun! Rabbi ‘O’ commented at the end of the farbrengen about how beautiful it was to see bochurim farbrengen amongst themselves – what a nachas…

By Wednesday, the 18th of Kislev, the Chag HaChagim was felt in the air. The shluchim started to farbreng with the bochurim at 11:30 p.m., where they told over the story of Yud Tes Kislev, what a farbrengen can accomplish and the importance of making hachlotohs on this day. The singing was so intense that at about 3:00 a.m. there appeared a few surprise guests who heard the singing from afar and were so moved that they had to stop by and see what was going on. A yasher koach to HaRav Gafni, Rosh Kollel in Tzfas and HaRav Mayodovnick, Mashpia of Yeshiva Gedolah in Tzfas for stopping by and for sharing with us some inspiring words.

On Thursday, Yud Tes Kislev, the bochurim were treated to a special brunch followed in the evening by the seuda in which the Nigun of Podah Besholoim and the Hachana Nigun were sung, followed by different bochurim saying over parts of the ma’amer. A great yasher koach to the following bochurim who all took part in saying over the ma’amer: Hatomim Shneur Palace, Hatomim Tuvia Lyampe, Hatomim Eli Marks, Hatomim Moishe Lieder, Hatomim Sholi Israel, Hatomim Yossi Weiss, Hatomim Avi Habousha, Hatomim Nathan Sroka, Hatomim Shloime Litvin, Hatomim Chaim Shimon Dubov; Hatomim Chaim Avrom Rabinowitz.

Rabbi Wilchanski spoke about the events of Yud Tes Kislev and the importance of chassidus today. Rabbi ‘O’ told over the story of Ayekoh and how every bochur has to look at himself and ask Ayekoh, where is he holding, what did he accomplish and where is he going. Rabbi ‘O’ emphasized the importance of setting goals, focusing on them and then realizing that we are able to accomplish things we never thought we could.

Moishe Orimland continued on and emphasized that the bochurim should take advantage of the fact that they are in a yeshiva where the shluchim are willing to do anything for them and that the staff is there to help each one individually and thus are able to bring out each and every ones potential.

The mivtzah for the hachonoh for Yud Shevat was introduced with great excitement by the shluchim and again many different hachlotohs were made. Hatomim Yossi Weiss took upon himself to learn the entire Mesechta Megillah and Hatomim Sholi Israel Mesechta Makos. Hatomim Meir Roetter accepted upon himself to be makpid on Rabbeinu Tam and Hatomim Mendel Friedrich accepted upon himself to saying the daily Tehillim for Refuah Sh’leimah for Ora Bas Bella. All in all, the bochurim left the farbrengen at 5:00 a.m. feeling extremely uplifted.

A great yasher koach to the shluchim, Yossi Lewis, Shlomo Yager, Zalman Lever and Mendy Cohen for all their hard work and devotion to all the bochurim and to the yeshiva and to Moishe Orimland for his creativity, sincerity and concern for each and every bochur.
