Morah Shana Tiechtel to Embark on International Chinuch Tour for 50 Years Since Mivtzah Chinuch
In honor of 50 years since Mivtzah Chinuch, the Menachem Education Foundation launches Morah Shana Tiechtel’s Chinuch Tour – an incredible opportunity for schools and communities around the world to gain renewed inspiration for Chinuch from Morah Shana Tiechtel, Principal Emeritus of Bais Rivkah High School and noted educator.
Chinuch lies at the center of each community, and Morah Tiechtel’s talks will highlight that. Through bringing ideas and guidance that will strengthen educators in their roles, and parents in their commitments to Chassidishe Chinuch, she will help build a shared vision between each school and parent body. Her addresses to students will bring out the beauty of going into Chinuch – with the goal of building a new generation of passionate teachers in our Moisdos.
Schools can sign up for a spot on the tour for a transformative experience, where Morah Tiechtel’s unmatched passion and wisdom will inspire staff, students and parents on Chinuch goals, ideas and practices, illuminated by the Rebbe’s teachings. Morah Tiechtel will also speak and farbreng, offering tailored professional development to each school’s staff, workshops to students and addresses to parents to empower them in their roles as educators today.
“We must utilize each moment in the fiftieth year since Mivtzah Chinuch,” shares Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Director of the Menachem Education Foundation. “The most important part of our community is the Chinuch of our children, and having Morah Tiechtel farbreng and speak to your community, will truly celebrate that, and is something we must do.”
Some of the topics that Morah Tiechtel will address for parents and teachers include the school and home partnership, how to raise inspired children in a confusing world, creating a responsive classroom, the power of trust, Chinuch and Chassidus – bringing joy and soul into learning, and so many more! Topics for students will include friendship, how to apply messages from Torah and Chassidus into real life, and how to make the dream of becoming a teacher reality. In one comprehensive package, highly subsidized this year by the Menachem Education Foundation, Morah Tiechtel will provide inspiration for all members of the school community, in one meaningful visit.
“Our Chinuch goals – to educate our children according to Torah and to have Yiras Shamayim – will always remain. However, the tools we use to achieve our goals have to be compatible with the children of today,” Morah Tiechtel shares.
Morah Tiechtel was famously encouraged by the Rebbe as a young teen to be a “pioneer” and attend Bais Rivkah High School. This pioneering spirit prevailed as she became a teacher at age 16, and later assumed the role of principal at Bais Rivkah, with close guidance and rich Hadracha from the Rebbe’s office. Morah Tiechtel is known to generations of Chabad women for the passion and care that she led with. Since stepping back from an active principal role, she has mentored countless principals and teachers, and shared rousing, inspirational, and humorous talks to communities worldwide. Schools who would like to elevate the Chinuch in their communities and tap into this opportunity, can visit mymef.org/chinuchtour, to find out more and choose dates for Morah Tiechtel’s visit.
