Chabad Shliach Appointed Spiritual Advisor to IDF Widows and Orphans Organization
The IDF Widows and Orphans Organization, the official body representing the widows and orphans of Israel’s fallen soldiers, has announced the appointment of Rabbi Shmuel Bistritzky, Chabad Shliach to Savyon, as the organization’s rabbi and spiritual advisor.
In their official statement, the organization wrote, “We are happy and excited to announce that beginning this year, Rabbi Shmuel Bistritzky, the rabbi of the Savyon community, will serve as the organization’s rabbi and spiritual-halachic advisor. Rabbi Bistritzky will be available to provide halachic and spiritual guidance to those who seek it, and has promised to be accessible to our members nearly 24/7.”
For over two decades, Rabbi Bistritzky has been devoted to uniting Jews from all walks of life through a range of personal and communal initiatives. He is the author of the popular Yahaduton book series and accompanying video series, both aimed at making Jewish knowledge accessible and practical for every Jew.
Rabbi Bistritzky, who has served as Chabad’s Shliach to Savyon for many years, began working closely with the IDF Widows and Orphans Organization following the tragic events of October 7th. His new position formalizes that connection, bringing Chabad’s signature warmth and spiritual support to those who have sacrificed so much for the Jewish people.
