Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa to Tackle Hilchos Yichud In New Sugya

This Sunday, Daled Cheshvan, Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa, a program of Merkos 302’s newly revamped Merkos Torah, will begin its next sugya: Hilchos Yichud.

One of the most practical and widely relevant areas of halacha today, Hilchos Yichud raises questions that come up constantly, in the office, at home, on Shlichus, or during simchas:

  • Can you close your office door when meeting someone?
  • Can you give a ride to a community member?
  • Can you have service workers in the house?

With Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa, you’ll gain clear and confident guidance to navigate these situations according to halacha.

“There’s a growing global community who are making serious, consistent Torah learning part of their lives,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “Through Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa and the other tracks within Merkos Torah, we’re seeing the Rebbe’s vision for Kvius Itim L’Torah become a central force in the lives of Shluchim and Lubavitchers around the world.”

Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa is a serious Chavrusa-based learning community, designed for Shluchim and Anash who want to master halacha and live it. The program follows a carefully structured, multi-year curriculum covering foundational Sugyos in Shulchan Aruch, divided into focused six-month segments. Each sugya is taught by leading Rabbonim and reinforced through Chavrusa learning, guided materials, and interactive discussion.

In addition to bi-weekly, in-depth, practical Shiurim, participants receive printed Marei Mekomos, weekly summaries, engaging materials, and access to dedicated Halacha Q&A and discussion groups, where Rabbonim engage participants daily with real-life cases and practical questions related to their Sugya.

“Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa is a tremendous resource and the highlight of my week,” says Rabbi Meir Shimon Moscowitz, Regional Director of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois. “I learn relevant sugyos in halacha in an organized manner, hear shiurim from Rabbonim Morei Horaah, and delve into the world of halacha, all through just a few hours a week.”

The Kollel’s Hanhala includes: Rosh Kollel: Rabbi Yaakov Goldstein, director of ShulchanAruchHarav.com and author of over 80 seforim. Sgan Rosh Kollel: Rabbi Menachem Rotenberg, Rov at the Beis Horaah in Crown Heights. Menahel Poel: Rabbi Mendy Piekarski, who regularly checks in with participants to ensure they’re progressing and fully supported.

“This Kollel opened the depth of halacha to me in a way I never experienced before. The learning is practical, well-structured, and truly life-changing,” shares Gamliel Beyderman, of Brooklyn.

The Rebbe emphasized that Kvius Itim L’Torah is the foundation of a Shliach’s success. As he told a Shliach in 5737: The more a Shliach immerses himself in Torah, the more effective and successful he becomes.”

Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa brings that vision to life, delivering Torah that powers your personal growth, your Shlichus, and your daily decisions.

The new Hilchos Yichud sugya begins this Sunday, 4 Cheshvan (October 26).
