Will it Finally Happen? Plans Announced To Demolish Old Kollel Building, To Be Replaced With Temporary Tent

Plans to tear down the abandoned Kollel building on Union Street have been in the works for decades, but an announcement has been made that may mean it will finally happen.

In a collaboration between Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch and Machne Israel, a plan has been announced to finally complete the demolition of the building, with a temporary tent to replace it for the Kollels use.

According to a press release, the tent is expected to hold 300 seats for the Kollel, with temperature control and proper facilities creating a “dignified, comfortable, and accessible atmosphere for learning.”
