MEF Welcomes 90 New Teachers to Chinuch with Gifts and Free Mentoring

In honor of 50 years since Mivtzah Chinuch, the Menachem Education Foundation warmly welcomed 90 first year Mechanchim and Mechanchos into Chinuch, a Shlichus so dear to the Rebbe, with a beautiful gift and complimentary mentoring. Each new teacher who signed up received a beautiful welcome to Chinuch gift with teaching supplies, resources and a book of Chinuch inspiration, as well as a free mentoring session. A raffle was made and 50 first-year teachers won the full 10-session coaching package with a Chinuch expert.

Created with the goal to ensure that 50 new teachers can lead their classrooms with confidence from the very beginning, the project gives tools to teach with clarity and passion while reaching the diverse needs of each student.

“The most important  investment we can make in our community is in our teachers; especially our first year teachers” explains Rabbi Zalman Shnuer, Director of the Menachem Education Foundation.

First year teachers from around the world signed up and shared their appreciation for how helpful this initiative has been to them in the first few weeks of school. Teachers in Crown Heights, Montreal and Monsey were so touched by the hand-delivered gifts, and teachers in other states and countries were excited to receive their gifts in the mail.

“We are so grateful to the Menachem Education Foundation for supporting our new teachers,” shared Mrs. Mushky Tuvel, Principal of Magen Israel on Long Island. “It was truly beautiful to see the thoughtful gift boxes prepared for them. As a principal, it fills me with such pride to know that our teachers are not only dedicated to their students but are also being cared for and uplifted as they begin their journey in our school.”

The Chinuch mentors who are guiding the new teachers in the program include Rabbis Shneur Wilhelm, Shmuel Wagner, Levi Kaplan, Yanky Goldstein, Moishie Reinitz, Zalman Raskin, Zelly Silber, and Mrs. Esther Gurary, Mrs. Chaya Wilhelm, Mrs. Nami Friedman, Mrs. Batsheva and Mrs. Sarah Krinsky.

“I had one session with Mrs. Deren and her advice already started working like magic,” shared a first year teacher who is receiving the mentoring package.

After receiving her hand-delivered gift, one Bais Rivkah teacher shared that “the first year support is so appreciated,” and another expressed that “I’m so happy I got this opportunity.”

The Menachem Education Foundation thanks Mrs. Mushkie Lispker, Etty Teleshevsky, Bayla Rutman and the rest of the staff for expertly coordinating the gifts and mentoring, to make each new teacher feel valued and supported. MEF’s mission is to support every teacher – both new and experienced – in their work in Chinuch. In addition to this beautiful initiative, MEF offers an array of resources to teachers and leaders, including the annual Kinus Mechanchos, the Chabad curriculum database, professional development workshops, courses, Chinuch coaching, Chinuch farbrengens and leadership training retreats, and the Everything Chinuch podcast.

All teachers and leaders are encouraged to visit mymef.org to access Chinuch resources, or find their own Chinuch mentors.

The Menachem Education Foundation extends their heartfelt gratitude to Avremel and Chevy Bernstein for sponsoring the seed money for the new teacher mentoring, and dedicates the initiative in loving memory of Mr. Richard Slifka OBM, a dedicated supporter of MEF’s work.
