Body of Tal Haimi HY’D Identified By Israel As Yesterday’s Returned Hostage

Overnight, military representatives notified the family of Tal Haimi, 41, that his body was returned to Israel by Hamas, after it was identified by forensic experts.

Haimi, the chief of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak’s civil defense squad, was killed while battling Hamas terrorists on the morning of October 7, 2023, and his body was abducted to Gaza, according to the IDF.

Like many other civil defense squad members who were killed while fighting Hamas on October 7, Haimi was posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant major in reserves.
