It’s a yearly tradition, and Erev Rosh Hashana leading up to 5786 was no different. A beautiful work of art depicting a shofar was completed by Chabad artist Yitzchak Moully in preparation for the new year.
“It’s Erev Rosh Hashanah I continue my tradition — to paint the energy of the new year’s Shofar,” Moully wrote. “This year, the world feels darker. Before we embrace the light of the Shofar, we must acknowledge that darkness. Only then can we recognize the light we carry within us — light strong enough to pierce through all darkness.”
“The blast of the shofar transcends darkness. It carries hope, it carries light — for each of us, for the hostages, for the world,” he explained.
Each year, after Chatzos on the day of Rosh Hashana, Moully pours his heart and soul into a Shofar painting, attempting to visualize the new energy of the upcoming year.
