
A Look At The Past Year With The Global Jewish Assistance and Relief Network
As we get ready to usher in the New Year 5786, I wish to take this opportunity to reflect on this past year and to give thanks to Hashem and to His many helpers who ensure our good work continues.
As we type these words, Global Jewish Assistance and Relief Network is helping tens of thousands of Jews and Jewish communities to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in:

- Egypt
- Ethiopia
- Ghana
- Israel*
- Kazakhstan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Moldova**
- Montenegro
- Qatar
- Syria
- Tunisia
- Turkey
- Ukraine
- Uganda
- Uzbekistan
- Zambia
*In Israel, we have provided over 10,200 FOOD CARDS to needy families for the High Holidays with a value of more than $1.3M.
** We were fortunate to participate in the inauguration of Liel’s Mikvah earlier this year.
Through the Association of Crown Heights Shuls, we have helped increase voter registration in Crown Heights have just produced the first interactive map of Crown Heights Shuls for increased security and safety.
And through the Merkaz Sefarad, we have inaugurated a new series of online weekly Shiurim in Chassidus in Israel, and plan to start a daily shiur in Tanya beginning with 19 Kislev.
All of this in addition to our assistance programs in another 15+ countries, depending on the need and our ability to respond.
On a personal level, I offer my tremendous thanks to Hashem for my miraculous recovery from a recent fall just over three weeks ago.
