New Semester Offers In-Depth Kallah Teacher Training For Shluchos and Broader Chabad Community

More than 300 Kallah teachers have been trained over the past seven years through the Kallah Teacher Training course of Mikvah.org in partnership with Merkos 302’s Shluchos Learning Center. Open to both Shluchos and the broader community, the program provides an all-encompassing education, equipping teachers to confidently guide students in Taharas Hamishpacha. Early Bird Discount ends tomorrow.

Among the Rebbe’s Ten Mivtzoim, Taharas Hamishpacha can be one of the most sensitive and challenging to convey. Teaching it requires both halachic expertise and emotional sensitivity. The comprehensive training course, offered in partnership with Mikvah.org and Merkos 302, provides a structured framework, ensuring that every Kallah teacher is prepared to mentor brides with a deep understanding and care.

“The Rebbe created a global support system by sending Shluchos to walk people through their most meaningful and sensitive moments,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302.“With the recent surge of young Jews looking to start Jewish homes, this course gives Shluchos the tools to guide them with clarity, care, and the depth the Rebbe envisioned for Mivtza Taharas Hamishpacha.”

The course covers Halacha, Hashkafa, Chassidus, mental and emotional health, and all other subjects necessary for effective Kallah teaching. A diverse faculty of Rabbanim, health professionals, Mashpiim, and experienced teachers guide the program, each contributing their expertise. Group discussions and personal mentorship ensure that no student navigates the process alone.

“The Kallah Teacher Training is a comprehensive course that is sensitive to the challenges facing kallahs today, while never compromising on halacha or hashkafa,” says course graduate Mrs. Rivki Cheruff, Shlucha to Birmingham, England. “It empowers us as trainees to truly tune in to each individual and to impart the intrinsic sacredness of the mikvah and of a Jewish marriage.”

Participants commit to 4 to 6 hours of study per week. Learning formats include pre-recorded classes, live Zoom sessions with recordings, and mentor-led personal guidance, making the program adaptable to different time zones and busy schedules.

“After Mikvah.org organized the first course for Kallah Teacher Training in 5777, it became imperative that we find a way to make the course accessible globally,” explains Mrs. Chassi Rivkin, Director of Operations at Mikvah.org. “Through the current partnership with the Shluchos Learning Center, we were able to restructure and scale the course model.”

Students emphasize not only the knowledge gained but also the firsthand experience shared by seasoned Kallah teachers.

“What makes the course so valuable is that not only are we taught knowledge and skills, but we are also given so many opportunities to learn directly from experienced kallah teachers. Hearing their insights, perspectives, and life experiences has given the course a truly three-dimensional learning experience,” says Shlucha Mrs. Leah Sputz, of Chabad at YU. “We weren’t just learning information; we were hearing it come alive through those who live it. I know this course will elevate the way I approach every kallah I teach.”

The program’s extended timeframe allows every subject to be explored thoroughly, including the emotional and psychological well-being of couples from engagement through marriage and beyond.

Mrs. Chana Danow, Shlucha to Leeds, England, shares, “I had no idea how I would fit so many hours into my already very busy life and Shlichus. But after a year of being ‘immersed’ in the course, I see the many benefits spilling out into the rest of my life, personally and in our Shlichus with students.”

In addition to training Kallah teachers, the course equips Shluchos and community leaders with sensitivity and confidence in addressing everyday questions and challenges related to Taharas Hamishpacha.
