Lubavitch Bochur Arrested In Ben Gurion Airport Over Draft Dodging

by CrownHeights.info

Reports from Eretz Yisroel show that Israel’s security apparatus has begun enforcement of draft dodgers as they attempt to leave the country, including the arrest of a Lubavitcher on his way to Crown Heights for Tishrei.

According to the available reports, the Lubavitcher was arrested and sentenced to 20 days in military jail.

Two other recent incidents involving draft dodging in the Charedi community were a 23-yrear-old Breslover who was arrested on his way to Uman and a newly married man arrested during his Sheva Brachos.

The Israeli MK for the UTJ Party, Rabbi Meir Porush, responded to the arrests saying: “The State of Israel’s ‘Iron Curtain’ against Hasidim who wish to travel to visit their ‘rebbe’ has begun to operate. Under the guidance of the Attorney General, an unprecedented operation has begun today, under which Jews are prevented from celebrating Rosh Hashanah as their custom is every year. It is unimaginable that such a thing happens in a country governed by Jews. This is an international disgrace.”

It shows a G-dless attorney general and court that doesn’t observe Rosh Hashanah and the traditional Jewish holidays and tries to prevent other Jews from doing so too. How do they get in these positions of power and influence in Israel of all countries? Bochrim must be allowed to be near their Rebbe during Tishrei, without a doubt! This is an outrage!
