Help Aleph Go Over the Top for Every Jewish Soul

“I wasn’t going to read ‘Letters for Life,’ to be honest, but something was laying on my heart to do it…”

Benny* had given up on himself. After years behind bars, he was bitter, cynical, and convinced his life was too far gone.

Then, something shifted. He received a book of the Rebbe’s writings from Aleph.

“I’m always in my head and go down a rabbit hole, but the Rebbe’s words told me to think about something else entirely—giving others joy will heal them and myself in turn. Every day now, I have a little mantra of bitachon that I repeat so I can remind myself to trust in Hashem. I inhale, then I exhale, and I feel His presence.”

He ended his letter: “If Moshe [Rabbeinu] can start his career at 80, I guess I can do something respectable at 40! Thank you for always thinking of us behind these walls.”

This is what Aleph is all about.

Every day, Aleph is there for people who feel completely alone—reaching isolated souls with nowhere else to turn, standing with families in crisis, and fighting for dignity and justice. We send tefillin, siddurim, and holiday packages. We support Jewish service members, chaplains, and their families, helping them stay connected to their Jewish identity no matter where they are.

At Aleph, “just enough” is never enough. Our beloved founder, Rabbi Sholom D. Lipskar a”h, taught us to go above and beyond—over the top—with compassion and heart. His passing left us with a deep sense of loss, but also a clear responsibility: to share his vision, to see those whom others overlook, and to love every Jewish soul, no matter the circumstance.

Now, it’s our turn.

Aleph has launched its Over the Top Campaign with the goal of raising $1 million in just 48 hours.  Every gift will be doubled, fueling the lifesaving work of bringing hope, dignity, and Jewish connection to thousands who would otherwise feel forgotten.

Even a little light dispels a lot of darkness. But Rabbi Lipskar never settled for “a little.” He believed in going over the top. And now, together, we can carry that mission forward.
