New Shluchim To Establish A Full Time Chabad Presence In King Township, Ontario

King Township, Ontario, will now have its first permanent Chabad presence with the arrival of Rabbi Naftoli and Mushkie Shanowitz as Shluchim.

King Township, a fast-growing and picturesque community just north of Toronto, is home to hundreds of Jewish families seeking warmth, connection, and vibrant Jewish experiences. Until now, the area has not had a full-time Chabad presence.

Rabbi Naftoli and Mushkie, together with their son Menachem Mendel, are dedicated to building a Chabad House that will serve as a hub of Jewish life — a welcoming space for Shabbos and Yom Tov gatherings, children’s programs, Teen activities, and adult education.

“We are humbled and excited to begin this new journey,” said Rabbi Naftoli Shanowitz. “Our vision is to create a warm home for every Jew in King Township — a place filled with light, joy, and inspiration where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect to their Yidishkeit and to one another.”

To help establish this new Chabad house, the Shanowitz family has launched a fundraising campaign at charidy.com/king.
