Bereishis Foundation Launches Innovative Media Lab to Nurture Family Well-being
The Bereishis Foundation today announced the launch of its groundbreaking new Media Lab, a new initiative dedicated to nurturing family well-being by teaching children positive Jewish values (middos) through storytelling while offering adults practical tools for mental wellness.
The Media Lab is built on two pillars: engaging programming for children and insightful content for parents and adults.
For the Children: Adventures in Middos
The Media Lab has released a vibrant collection of original shows and books designed to make learning Jewish values an exciting adventure for young minds.
- Shows:
- Parsha Plates: A culinary journey where each dish is a mission from the weekly Parsha. Children can watch as the hosts recreate Jacob’s legendary Lentil Soup, construct the Grape Cluster of the Twelve Spies out of cupcakes, and build an edible Bais Hamikdash.
- “Grown-Up” for a Day: In this series, children step into the shoes of real-life Jewish heroes, teaming up with a Sofer to inspect a Torah scroll or joining a Mashgiach on a mission to kasher a large kitchen.
- Books and Comics:
- Kippah Tails: A time-traveling adventure series following two Chabad friends, Ari and Mendel, as they solve mysteries from Jewish history. The first volume, “The Discovery of Time Travel,” sees them journey back to understand the prophet Yonah.
- Leo and the Mitzvah Magnifier 3000: An engaging comic that explores the world of Mitzvos through the eyes of a young boy named Leo.
For Parents & Adults: Stories of Strength
For adults, the Media Lab is launching “Stories of Strength,” a weekly podcast featuring deep-dive conversations with respected mental health professionals, rabbis, and parenting experts. The podcast will explore the adult applications of the middos found in the children’s stories, bridging timeless Jewish wisdom with modern mental health practices to empower adults.
“The Bereishis Foundation is committed to providing resources that strengthen the family unit and imbue our children with a love for our heritage,” a representative of the foundation said. “The Media Lab is our way of using modern media to transmit timeless values in a way that is engaging, accessible, and meaningful for every member of the family.”
