YTTL Queens Retraces the Frierdiker Rebbe’s Journey

32 Tmimim of Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch Yeshiva of Queens mastered Maseches Kesubos, some also by heart. They were rewarded with a unique prize; an extraordinary two-week journey throughout Eretz Hakodesh.

The trip was led by yeshiva director Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hakohen Hendel and Menahel Rabbi Yosef Hakohen Hendel, with Sidrei Limud Nigle and Chassidus taught by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Dov Yusewitz of the Vaad Hapoel.

Following the Frierdiker Rebbe’s Footsteps (1929)

The journey retraced the historic 5689 visit: Mikveh Yisroel (main kabbalas panim location), Meah Shearim shul, the Great Shul and Yeshivas Lomza in Petach Tikvah, Mekomos Hakdoshim in Yerushalayim and Tzfas, mincha at the seventh step in Mearas HaMachpeila in Chevron at the exact time the Frierdiker Rebbe davened there, Avraham Avinu synagogue and Beis Romano in Chevron, and closing ceremony at Lod’s old train station where the Frierdiker Rebbe bid farewell to chassidim 96 years ago.

Gedolei HoRabbonim visits and Bechinos

The bochurim were tested on the Gemora Kesubos and presented before: HaGaon Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik Landa, HaGaon Rabbi Masoud Ben ShimonRabbi Dov Tvardovitch, Maran HaRishon L’Tzion Chief Rabbi Rabbi Dovid Yosef, and Chief Rabbi of Tzfat Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu.

Special Farbrengens

Special farbrengens with shluchim and renowned figures throughout Eretz Yisroel: Rabbi Yirmiyahu Kalifa (Be’er Sheva), Rabbi Noam HarpazRabbi Meir Suissa (regional rabbi of Ramat Negev), Rabbi Shmuel HendelRabbi Guy MalkaRabbi Shlomo Barkowitz (Rosh Pina), and Rabbi Victor Atiya (concluding farbrengen).

Thrillers for the Nefesh Habehamis

Judean Desert, camel riding, Masada tour, Dead Sea bathing, Luria’s esrogim, Schneerson’s honey, jeep rides, and visits to tzaddikim’s kevarim in Tveriah including the Rambam, Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess, and Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Vitebsk.

“The goal is to bring nachas ruach to the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach, and there’s no doubt that these bochurim accomplished that,” Rabbi Hendel concluded.
