50,000+ Lines of Torah Gifted to the Rebbe at Dovi’s CGI Florida
Directorship, campers, and staff of Dovi’s CGI Florida gathered on the final Friday of summer camp to celebrate achievements at the 19th annual MBP Award ceremony, a gift to the Rebbe.
Learning Director Rabbi Avremel Labkowsky commended everyone for their 6+ week-long accomplishments, totaling 50,592 lines of Torah memorized, which included:
52 perakim Mishnayos
677 Mishnas
4,918 lines of Mishnayos
48 perakim Tanya (new camp record)
5,615 lines of Tanya
393 lines of Ma’amar Bar Mitzvah
39,666 lines of general Torah knowledge
A video showing the Rebbe’s appreciation for such gifts was shown, followed by honoring the campers present in camp with the most points: 1st Place – Rafi Schrage, 2nd Place – Ari Katan, and 3rd Place – Eli Cattan.
Each camper, accompanied by a multimedia presentation that included their picture and stats, was then called to the stage to receive the seforim they ordered from the camp’s seforim catalog, based on their point total.
Heartfelt gratitude was expressed to Rabbi Yossi Teleshevsky of chabadkid.com for providing a modern platform that made information entry and access easy at any time and location. The crowd applauded in appreciation for Mendel Tenenbaum for processing all data and facilitating all web-related activities throughout the summer, and to Moshe Weiss for his tireless devotion towards the morning MBP (aka Cocoa Club). Finally, a special hakorav hatov was extended to Rabbi Dovid Zirkind of baalpeh.org for his pioneering database that has enabled the tracking of each camper’s progress for 14 summers.
Camp Gan Israel Florida’s administration, under the leadership of Rabbi Yossi Biston and Rabbi Yossi Goldblatt wishes everyone success in their studies for the upcoming school year, and bring about the revelation of Moshiach Now, as it is written: אין כל הגלויות הללו מתכנסות אלא בזכות המשניות

This whole concept of, “Gifting to the Rebbe”, is so funny.
