Nightly Selichot Services for Chodesh Elul Now Available VIA Zoom

Over the course of the past few days, Rabbi Eliezer (Lazer) Avtzon of the Merkaz Sefarad Shul in Crown Heights, received numerous calls from Israeli and Sefardi people looking for minyanim across heartland America for Selichot.

Unable to locate Sefardi Synagogues in some of these rural places, Rabbi Avtzon offered to live stream the nightly Selichot services from his Shul for them to participate.

Obviously, they cannot be counted as part of the Minyan, and are not able to say 13 Midos Harachamim (unless read with with the tunes of Kriat Hatorah – similar to an individual who davens alone), however this enables them to keep up with their traditions / Mesora and prepare for the High Holidays.

For the first Selichot Monday night, we had over a dozen people from Nebraska, Florida and California joining us. The feedback and appreciation was heart warming.

Anyone wishing to join in can click on the link below every night at 1:00AM. Average services are one hour or slightly longer.
