Chof Av Preparations Underway in Alma-Ata
On the eve of Chof Menachem Av, the yahrzeit of the Rebbe’s father, Harav Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, his resting place in Alma-Ata is preparing to receive the crowds arriving from around the world.
Among the guests will be hundreds traveling from Israel, arriving on a historic charter flight this year for the first time.
The organizers have erected brand-new, massive tents adjacent to the tziyun. The tents, purchased abroad and delivered in the past few days, are designed to accommodate the large crowds visiting the tziyun.
Inside the tents, large banners have been hung, featuring quotes from the Rebbeim about Harav Levi Yitzchak.
Throughout the night and day of the yahrzeit, the site will host davening, shiurim, and special farbrengens focused on drawing inspiration from the life, conduct, and teachings of Harav Levi Yitzchak.
The Chabad community extends special thanks to the generous donor Avi Shaulson, the initiator and long-time sponsor of the Chof Av events at the tziyun, for his efforts, particularly with arranging accommodations for the guests in local hotels.
