Graduation Ceremony Celebrates Dozens of Accomplished Students from The Jewish University of Moscow
The Jewish University of Moscow, held a festive and emotional graduation ceremony for 27 students at the Marina Rosche JCC campus marking their academic achievements over the years. The graduates completed bachelor’s degrees in various fields, including marketing and advertising, computer science, and economics.
Thirteen of the students were awarded dual degrees—both a Russian bachelor’s degree and a BA from the United States, thanks to a joint academic program with Touro University. In addition, six young women completed certificate programs in design, and eight female students graduated from high school through the same educational institute.
The ceremony included a formal segment during which the diplomas were distributed and blessings were offered by Rector Dr. Alexander Lebedev, University President Rabbi Avraham Berkman, and Vice President Rabbi Eli Riss. The official program was hosted by two student presenters.
Chief Rabbi of Russia, Berel Lazar, emphasized in his speech the importance of knowledge and continuous learning in Jewish values.
Following the formalities, the community gathered for a more informal celebration organized by current students in honor of the graduates. Separate end-of-year programs were also held for male and female students, in keeping with the university’s traditional structure.
The event served as both a celebration of academic success and a testament to the vibrant educational opportunities made available to Jewish youth in the region through FJC initiatives.
