HALLANDALE, FL [CHI] — In what is traditionally North America’s largest Annual Chanukah Festival, some 10,000 men, women, and children are expected at the 28th Annual South Florida Chassidic Chanukah Festival, organized and sponsored by Chabad of South Broward. The festival is set for Tuesday, December 11, at 7:00 P.M.

This years’ Festival will take place at the New Gulfstream Park, one of America’s premier horse racing tracks, where a deluxe outdoor concert theater has been built. The theater has 3 Mezzanine levels, and even if it rains, the concert is able to go on without delay, and with all in attendance under shelter. Gulfstream Park is located at Hallandale Beach Blvd. and US1 (Biscayne Blvd).

Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus, Chabad’s Executive Vice President, says that the new venue and added entertainment will enable the world renowned Festival to get even bigger and better.

“Just like the Chanukah Lamps are increased with an added candle, every day of Chanukah, so too, every effort is made that North
America’s Largest Annual Chanukah Festival grows each year, both in quantity and in quality.”

The Festival features delicious food, free dreidels, goodies, Chanukah gelt (money) for the kids, Chanukah costumed characters and the lighting of Florida’s Largest Menorah. Admission to the Festival is free!

Avraham Fried, the #1 Superstar of Jewish Music, will perform a full concert, and he will be preceded by the first ever South Florida performance of “The Kinderlach”, the popular boys choir flying in especially from Jerusalem.

For 24 years, the Chanukah Festival took place in Downtown Hollywood at the Young Circle Bandshell. The next 3 years the Festival moved to the McArthur High School Football Stadium in West Hollywood.

After 100 million dollars was invested in Gulfstream Park, for the first time ever the Chanukah Festival will take place in Hallandale Beach, across the street from the Chabad Of South Broward Headquarters.

Chabad of South Broward is a leader in Jewish education, outreach and social services, with 12 Centers, 38 agencies, and 19 shluchim (emissaries) in ten Broward Cities.
