Ukrainian Jewish Students Gather in Dnipro for Inspiring STARS Shabbaton
Forty-five Jewish university students from across Ukraine came together in Dnipro for a meaningful STARS Ukraine Shabbaton seminar, held in close proximity to the holiday of Shavuot and dedicated to the theme of Torah study and Jewish heritage.
Despite the ongoing tension in various parts of the country, the students arrived in Dnipro with high spirits, eager to participate in a unifying and uplifting Shabbat experience. The gathering served as a powerful catalyst for strengthening a growing young Jewish community, made possible through the STARS platform that organizes weekly classes, events, seminars, and Shabbatons throughout Ukraine.
“We would like to express our heartfelt thanks, on behalf of the program’s leadership and all participants, to Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and Chabad emissary, for his generous hospitality on the community campus and for his personal participation in the seminar, which greatly enriched the students who were inspired by his captivating teachings,” shared Rabbi Pinchas Vishedski, CEO of STARS Ukraine and Rabbi of Kyiv’s KEDEM community.
This successful initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of several Jewish organizations. The STARS world organization, led by Rabbi Avi Cassel, worked in concert with JRNU, under Rabbi Shlomo Peles‘s leadership, and YAHAD, directed by Rabbi Mendy Wilansky within the Federation of Jewish Communities (FJC) framework.
