Rabbanim Complete Intensive Two-Year Halacha Study as Kollel L’Rabbonei Chabad Prepares for Next Sugya

After two years of rigorous and focused learning, 160 Rabbanim and Shluchim from across the globe have completed the inaugural halacha Sugya of Merkos 302’s Kollel L’Rabbonei Chabad and prepare to begin the next. This achievement marks a significant milestone in what is widely recognized as one of the most demanding and comprehensive halachic programs available today.

“This program has truly transformed my approach as a shliach,” shared Rabbi Moshe Steiner of Toronto. “The volume of learning integrated into my schedule is phenomenal, and the opportunity to study alongside such a dedicated and knowledgeable group of Rabbanim has been inspiring.”

The Kollel, a flagship initiative of Merkos 302’s Beis Midrash L’Shluchim, offers an eight-year curriculum designed to develop highly skilled Rabbanim with deep, practical expertise in halacha and hora’ah. The program requires a serious commitment; participants engage in weekly shiurim, chavrusa study, and specialized shimush training. This unique training combines in-person sessions in Crown Heights with an innovative mail-based system that facilitates ongoing practical application and review.

Rabbi Chaim Raskin, Rosh Kollel, emphasized the program’s intensity: “This isn’t casual learning. Participants dedicate hours each week to thoroughly master every detail of each sugya. The result is a confident, comprehensive understanding of halacha that equips them to pasken effectively and serve their communities with excellence.”

Following the completion of the two-year cycle, the Kollel is preparing to begin the next phase of study: Hilchos Mezuzah, starting Yud Tammuz, with Hilchos Mikvah planned for after Tishrei. These sugyos will be explored with the same depth and intensity, ensuring graduates achieve mastery over each area of halacha they study.

Rabbi Tuvia Kasimov, Sgan Rosh Kollel, underscored the lifelong nature of this learning journey: “Rabbanus is not a one-time achievement, it’s a lifetime calling. This Kollel provides the structure and resources that allow Rabbanim to continuously grow in their halachic knowledge and Shimush.”

Applications for the next zman are now open! Shluchim and Lubavitchers worldwide who are ready to commit to serious, in-depth halachic study are encouraged to apply. This program demands dedication and focus but offers unparalleled mastery of critical skills, preparing participants to serve their communities with confidence and authority.
