MyShliach Virtual Camp For Young Shluchim Returns for Fifth Summer

For Meir Ross, living with his family on Shlichus in Duluth, MN, leaves him far from established Jewish infrastructure and friends. As proud Shluchim of the Rebbe, they dedicate their life to others over the comforts of frum communal life. MyShliach at Merkos 302 aims to create a global community for Meir and thousands of Yaldei Hashluchim around the world.

Among its many initiatives to support Yaldei Hashluchim, MyShliach offers a virtual summer camp. “Living in remote areas without any local Jewish friends, a program like this makes the difference,” said his father, Rabbi Mendy Ross of Chabad Duluth, Minnesota. “With the nearest Gan Yisroel over 750 miles away, it allows Meir and his siblings to have a structured chassidishe day camp experience and make new friends, which wouldn’t otherwise be possible,”

“The Rebbe often spoke about the critical impact of a camp experience on a child’s chinuch,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302. “Our goal is to ensure that every young child growing up on shlichus has the same sense of belonging and immersive chassidishe experiences as any other child, and even more.”

This year, experienced educator Rabbi Dudi Ashkenazi is leading the MyShliach virtual camp team at Merkos 302 to coordinate a fun-filled summer program. Promising to be as engaging and immersive as an in-person camp, the MyShliach virtual summer camp aims big. “This year’s program builds on everything we’ve learned; more interaction, better tools, and a clearer focus on what helps these young Shluchim feel connected.”  he says.

New this year, the camp will run on MyShliach’s newly launched digital platform, designed to foster real-time interaction and community. Campers will be able to connect with their bunkmates, track their progress, earn points for participation, and redeem them for prizes in the iconic MyShliach store.

The program is open to young Shluchim and Shluchos in pre-1A to 3rd grade who will participate in daily fun and educational activities together with like-minded young shluchim from all over the United States and Europe.

Building off a successful program for the past four summers, the team at MyShliach brings their combined experience to the table, ready to recreate the immersive experience of an in-person camp through the magic of modern technology.

The daily excitement is encouraged by guest entertainers, interactive games, and new friendships. Torah learning and Chassidishe experiences are incorporated into the daily schedule, complete with MyShliach’s signature incentive system.

Parents are provided with a supplies list before the 4-week program, enabling their children to take part in art-and-crafts activities guided by their counselors online. The importance of sensory experience is not forgotten despite the camp being mainly online.

This year, the camp is dedicated L’ilui Nishmas Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky A”H, the beloved founder of MyShliach. “Rabbi Kotlarsky’s concern for the well-being of the Yaldei Shluchim was legendary,” said Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz, director of MyShliach at Merkos 302. “There is no better way to continue his legacy than by caring for the young Shluchim who are on the frontlines of the Rebbe’s Shlichus.”
