Hundreds of Students Honored at Oholei Torah’s Largest Chalukas Haprosim Yet

This week, Oholei Torah proudly hosted its annual Chalukas Haprosim, a deeply inspiring event recognizing the extraordinary accomplishments of 577 Talmidim who participated in the Mishnayos and Tanya Baal Peh as a Matona for the Rebbe’s birthday, Yud Alef Nissan.

In 3 separate shifts, the ballroom filled with proud parents and dedicated staff, students from across the Cheder division were awarded for their rigorous learning and commitment to learning Torah Baal Peh. The numbers speak volumes:

Over the course of the program, the Talmidim completed 2 Sedarim, 209 Masechtos, and 1,820 Perakim of Mishnayos, totaling 15,975 Mishnayos and an incredible 125,922 lines of Mishnayos Baal Peh. In Tanya, students memorized 2,029 Perakim, representing a total of 128,279 lines. The Gemara Baal Peh portion of the program saw 143 sections completed, amounting to 5,626 lines. 

Beyond these core areas, students also excelled in Yedios Klolios B’al Peh. In Yedios Klolios, they completed 3,703 units, totaling 37,800 lines.

A highlight of this year’s program was the extraordinary dedication of 20 sixth-grade Talmidim who, in the months leading up to their Bar Mitzvah, followed a rigorous daily schedule and successfully completed all 12 Perakim of Tanya Baal Peh. 

In total, a staggering 313,753 lines were committed to memory by these young talmidim, earning a combined 508,087 points in Tzivos Hashem.The program was emceed by Principals Rabbi Yossi Evers, Rabbi Eli Simpson and, Tzivos Hashem Base Commander, Rabbi Mendel Levin, who distributed seforim and awards to the highest achievers. The boys’ devotion to internalizing Torah B’al Peh is a shining example of Oholei Torah’s mission to raise proud Chassidishe Talmidim grounded in Yiras Shamayim and Ahavas HaTorah.
