Crown Heights Schools Launch New Program That Allows You To Pay Tuition as You Make Your Purchases

Beth Rivkah, Oholei Torah, and other local schools have announced a new program that has just arrived in Crown Heights allowing you to reduce your tuition bill each year!

“We know that for most, school tuition represents a large expense and a way to help reduce it is important, Beth Rivka wrote. “That is why we are happy to introduce to you a new tuition savings program, the BETHRIVKAH TAB CARD.”

The TAB Card is a debit Mastercard that earns you a reward on every transaction you make in the form of a credit that is applied directly towards your tuition bill. Additionally, spending at participating merchants earns an even greater amount of reward, usually 3-5 times higher than any other credit or debit card.

Sign up now to have your TAB Card ready for use in time for Shavous and the summer. It is also worth noting that grandparents of students can also sign up for the program and have their reward applied towards their grandchild’s tuition.

As an example, if you go to Kleins Grocery on Empire Blvd. and spend $200, you will earn 6.5% of that ($13.00) towards your tuition bill. If you book a car with Sixt.com and spend $500, you will earn 3.5% of that ($17.50) towards your tuition bill. Reward earned accrues throughout the year and is automatically applied twice during the school year towards your outstanding tuition balance.

More than 100 Jewish businesses are already participating in the greater Brooklyn area and Crown Heights merchants are already beginning to participate as well including Merkaz Stam, Kettle & Cord, Mendy’s Restaurant & Catering, Hair Lounge, Klein’s Grocery, Mr. Clean Dry Cleaner, CH Butcher, Brackman Custom, Atica, Holesome Bagels, Kahan’s Superette, Borsalino, Chocolatte Espresso Bar and Albany Bakery! New local merchants continue to join regularly. There are also over 3,000 online participating merchants like Expedia, Walmart, Macy’s, Home Depot, Rite Aid, Old Navy and Flower.com.

The Tab Card also has local participating merchants in other cities like Monsey, Lakewood, Miami, Baltimore and Dallas where you can earn greater amounts of reward as well.

Your TAB Card may be used everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted.

Can I have multiple TAB Card accounts all paying their reward to the same tuition account?

Yes, you can sign up for any number of TAB Card accounts all linked to the same tuition account. Please note, when signing up for a subsequent TAB Card, a different email address must be used.

Can I have tuition accounts at different schools be linked to one TAB Card account?

No, you can only have one tuition account linked to a TAB Card account.

Is there a cost to obtain a TAB Card?

There is no cost to get a TAB Card, but to help reduce fraud, the TAB Card program has a $10 enrollment fee; however, upon activation of your TAB Card you will receive a $10 promotional credit to your account.

How does it work?

After signing up for the TAB Card and loading funds, when one makes a purchase, they earn a percentage of the transaction back towards their school tuition as a reward.

Example: A family goes out to dine at a local restaurant which is offering a 10% reward. Their bill comes to $300 and the family pays with their TAB Card. A $30 tuition reward is earned and credited to their school tuition account.

How do I know which local merchants participate in the program?

You can find a full listing of the online participating merchants by clicking the “REWARDS” link and browsing the “ONLINE” section. You can also install the TAB Card Rewards browser extension which will alert you to participating online merchants.

How long will it take for me to see my earned reward?

Your earned reward will typically be reflected in your account within 1-3 days on In-Store purchases and 7-14 days on online purchases.

Can I return an item and get a full refund on my purchase?

You may make a return according to the merchant’s policy; however, the rewards earned on the original transaction will be subtracted from your rewards balance.

When will my tuition reward be paid and how will it affect my payments?

Your tuition reward will be paid directly to the school twice during the school year on the date indicated on the left side panel of your “MY ACCOUNT” page. Your future payments will be adjusted accordingly.

My tuition is paid through a third party, can I still join and earn reward?

Yes, select that your tuition is paid through QTR during signup, and your reward will make it back to you.

I am a school employee; can I still join and earn reward?

Yes, select that you are a school employee during signup, and your reward will make it back to you.

Can my school see where I used my TAB Card?

No, your TAB Card account is completely private. Your school only receives your earned reward money as a lump sum and is not provided with any information as to how it was earned.
