
Lag BaOmer Celebrated in Gorgeous Weather in Montreal
Chabad Montreal did it again. Bezras Ha-Shem Yisbarech, a beautiful Grand Lag BaOmer parade was held under a stunning sunny blue sky with gorgeous weather.
Sunshine or rain, Sunday or in the middle of the week, Montreal always holds a Lag BaOmer Parade.
The Chabad community in Montreal, one of the only cities in the world which organizes a grand Lag BaOmer Parade whether it’s Sunday or in middle of the week, celebrating the yahrzeit of the Rashbi. Manifesting unity and a salute to Judaism marching with Pride.
2000 kides showed up from over 15 Jewish schools of Montréal for the event that began in front of Van horne Park in a display of the 10 mitzvah campaigns as instructed by the Rebbe.
Young students recited the 12 Pesukim followed by greetings of HaRav Berel Bell and greetings from HaRav David Banon.
3 Creative floats were prepared by the Bochurim of the Yeshiva Zal, Bochurim of Mesivta Ateres Menachem, and the Shluchim of Beis Chabad CSL.
Ten car floats, each one displaying one of the 10 mitzvah campaigns, were also on hand alongside two Mitzvah Tanks.
Children marching held signs in both English and French calling to “Learn Torah” and “Love your fellow Jew” as they walked down Westbury avenue to Mackenzie King park for a fascinating concert with Rabbi B and Yo Aisenstark, Acrobat shows, blessings and snacks, sandwiches and ice cold freeze pops concluded yet another Lag BaOmer day in Montreal surely to be remembered until next year.
Rabbi Berel Mockin head Shaliach of Chabad Lubavitch Youth Org. together with Rabbi Dovid Cohen, the coordinator of the event organized this beautiful festival honoring Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai’s yahrzeit- Hiloula.

This actually exemplifies the whole meaning and purpose of the Lag BaOmer parade Unity, Solidarity, Jewish Pride, and Mitzvos.
