by CrownHeights.info
Rabbi Sholom Dovber Raichik of Chabad Lubavitch of Upper Montgomery County, MD, took his Shlichus to an entirely new level Tuesday when he stepped into Cornell Hospital and prepared to help another Jew by donating a kidney.
“This morning I am in Cornell Hospital in New York City getting ready to donate a kidney to a woman who is presently on dialysis,” Rabbi Raichik wrote on social media. “Please keep both the recipient and myself in your prayers, that our surgeries be successful, and we have full recoveries to be restored to full and complete health.”
While Rabbi Raichik is neither the first Lubavitcher nor the first Shliach to make such a donation, his chessed is no less special, providing a new lease on life to a fellow Jew.
Please say Tehillim for the success of the kidney donation: Donor – Sholom Dovber HaLevi ben Leah Recipient – Leah bat Faiga.
“May the merit of this special Mitzvah bring revealed blessings to you and your loved ones in all facets of life.”
