History Repeated – The Rebbe’s Birthday Club Membership Renewed for 36th Anniversary

36 years since the Rebbe was first presented with his membership for the Jewish Birthday Club, and in preparation for his birthday on Yud Alef Nisan, history repeated itself, with his personal certificate presented anew at the Ohel. The certificate was originally presented by the Jewish Birthday Club co-founder, Louis Goldstein, at a Machne Israel Development Fund event (jemtv.page.link/tdF4).

Recently updated and upgraded, the new version of the Jewish Birthday Club‘s personalized birthday package was brough to the Ohel by Rabbi Yehuda Straiton, director of Tzivos Hashem Sydney, accompanied by Menachem Spielman representing the Jewish Birthday Club, and high school students from Kesser Torah College in Sydney, Australia, who were visiting New York to participate in the international Chidon Sefer HaMitzvos competition.

Since its inception, the Jewish Birthday Club has expanded internationally and has partnered with schools and shuls from all walks of Judaism, and Chabad houses worldwide.

The Jewish Birthday Club was created in response to the Rebbe’s campaign in support of the celebration of Jewish birthdays, including the mivtzos designated for that special occasion, after the passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka. The Rebbe was first presented with his Jewish Birthday Club certificate by Goldstein at a Machne Israel Development Fund gathering, at which time the Rebbe expressed his desire to pay club membership dues, and not to have any fees waived due to his status (jemtv.page.link/tdF4).

This renewed presentation of the Jewish Birthday Club certificate at the Ohel serves as a testament to the enduring relevance of the Rebbe’s vision, inspiring generations to embrace their heritage with renewed vigor and purpose.
