It may not be the news you want to hear, but you have to hear it.
A recidivist burglar who was busted twice by Crown Heights Shomrim last year and jailed, is now back on the streets of Crown Heights and attempting to break into homes.
“This career burglar and thief has recently been released from jail after being apprehended by Shomrim and the NYPD in March of 2024,” Crown Heights Shomrim wrote. “He tried to force his way into a home last night. If seen, call Shomrim right away at 718-774-3333.”
This man was caught by Shomrim in March of 2024 after he broke into multiple homes in Crown Heights, stealing thousands and leading to a local manhunt. He was eventually tracked down thanks to a community member’s tip to Shomrim, with then Inspector and Commanding Officer of the 71st Precinct Tommy Smith himself coming to the site of the arrest.
Video circulating from an attempt by the burglar to break into a Crown Heights home last night highlights the danger that this man poses. His attempts to enter the home were done by force. Protect yourself and notify Shomrim if he is spotted in the community.
